April last year while playing Fortnite with my friends my computer crashed. It wasn't able to boot into Windows after that and it wouldn't allow me to reinstall Windows. It was sent to Acer to get fixed for 2 weeks. After some time after I got the machine back, I realized the disk was extremely slow. It wasn't able to load a CS:GO map within 4 minutes (leading to me getting bans for not joining games). I didn't really know what was going on at the time so I assumed it was Windows' fault that would eventually get fixed. But after using my laptop for longer during quarantine the 5 minute boot times for Windows and being unable to load maps within reasonable times made me check on what's going on. Comes out I got a 10 yo Toshiba MQ01ABD100 as a replacement, 5400 RPM with a SATA II plug. How did I get something like this as a replacement?

    (1) Exactly what ACER service center or partner? Address? Weblink?
    (2) Was it still under warranty?

Since I bought the laptop from Media Markt it was sent through them so I have no idea to which service centre it was sent, but it wasn't fixed at Media Markt. Yes the device was under warranty.

I suggest that you contact the vendor pronto and find out who they used.  I doubt an ACER Service Ctr would've intentionally crippled the system using a SATA2 HDD primary. Jack E/NJ
