SSD DVD adapter

In the Aspire A517-51G-50BX, I insert the ssd into the DVD adapter.

Although the BIOS did not recognize ssd, I tried multiple adapters and changed several disks, ssd and hdd, the BIOS is set to UEFI but nothing

.

Windows 10 sometimes recognizes disk sometimes not.

With this, I wanted to have two operating systems on the laptop and chose which disk to boot from but it fails.

What's the problem? Does my laptop support this feature, I upgraded the BIOS.

Supposedly the laptop should recognize the drive in the adapter. When I put the DVD, the BIOS immediately recognizes it.

For now I use ssd as an external drive and with it boots another system but it is impractical to me.

What is the version of the bios? Not all notebook models support the caddy.

Is the sata mode in ahci or rst with optane? Try setting sata mode to ahci and see if the problem is resolved. If sata mode is not showing, go to the main tab and press ctrl + s.

Have you checked if updating the ahci controller driver on the intel website, if it solves the problem?

tnx, but I think the problem is in the BIOS because the laptop doesn't see it in the BIOS.

The bios does not generally recognize the caddy. Now, go to the bios and disable fastboot:

Then, go to sata configuration and check if the sata ports are enabled:

Then, go to the windows power options and disable fast startup:

I think there is a greater likelihood that the bios will recognize the caddy in legacy mode.

Does the same problem occur when you uninstall intel rapid storage?

I will try. Tnx. Now is ssd as external drive via usb 3.0. and works ok but is not pracktic. Caddy and sata is better solution.
