The airflow of the laptop is located behind the laptop. Is it normal if it heats a little even though no heavy programs are running? Only the area where the air goes out is a little hot though.

Yes, if the screen is on, it is normal for the CPU/GPU to heat up. If you turn the screen off with the FN+F6 toggle or in sleep mode, it will cool down. Jack E/NJ

Well, yes. It cools down when I turn the screen off. However, how do I do work that requires a long screen time in the future?

You can make it cooler by adjusting the screen brightness to about 50%. This will also help for longer battery life before it has to be plugged in and recharged. But keeping it at 100% does not hurt anything and is normal. Just gets warmer with shorter battery life before plugging it back in. Jack E/NJ

I just realized the hot part is the air vent which is located behind the laptop, where the hot air goes out, which is partially covered by the hinge of the screen. This makes it heat up faster. Are there any way to reduce the heat?

Yes. Reduce screen brightness with the FN+RightArrow keycombination. Or open ControlPanel. Search 'power plan'. Click 'choose a power plan' in the left pane. Change power plan from Performance or Balanced to PowerSaver. You can also reduce screen brightness there, Jack E/NJ
