My cousin's Acer Nitro 5 laptop's lcd suddenly stops working and decided to connect to external display via a monitor with VGA and a vga-to-hdmi adapter. When I connected it to my personal monitor which is a Dell with 1920x1080 resolutions via vga-to-hdmi adapter, it works. Tried with hdmi cord from Nitro 5 to smart TV, it works. But when we tried to her LG monitor which only supports 1366x768 resolution via vga-to-hdmi adapter, it won't work. Does it have issues on the monitor's maximum resolution?

Lower the res. while connected to the tv and try again with the lower res. to connect to the monitor. Yes res. is the issue.

Try to boot in safe mode with the monitor connected, try a different adapter as well
