Acer X1311KW widescreen projector only receives 4:3 image

Hi,

 

My laptop sends an image of 1280x800 pixels through VGA to my Acer X1311 widescreen projector, however, the projector says it receives an image of 1280x1024 pixels. In the box in the corner of the screen, it says:

 

D-Sub1

1280x1024

63.98khz 60hz

 

Therefore, it displays black bars at the top and bottom of the screen an black bars left and right because he doesn't stretch the image.

 

I've tried the different modes with aspect ratio and digital zoom, but this only results in a stretched image with still black bars at the top and bottom.

 

How can I tell my projector to ignore the black space on top and bottom en use the entire screen, or how can I tell my projector it's not an 1280x1024 image it receives, but 1280x800?
