File Copying Issues! (HDD/SSD)

Hi,
I just recently bought an SSD for my laptop - and got it all set up and working fine. After transferring the OS to the SSD, I am attempting to use the newly formatted HDD drive as mainly storage (pics, videos, documents etc). I copied my entire picture library over from the pictures section that was labelled as 'this PC' (, what was on the HDD but was cloned over to the SSD with the OS, so I am assuming this is the new SSD now??) and copied them into the HDD DATA Drive. The pictures all copied over okay by the looks of things, but when I try to open ANY of them, I get the whole 'Windows cannot find...' message. Have I done something stupid? My vids and documents are all okay, it's just the pictures

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has the ssd been successfully cloned? Do you still have a copy of the files on your hard drive?

As far as I’m aware the process was successful (I used Macrium Reflect to clone and there were no issues raised by the software) When I cloned the HDD to the SSD, after it was done i copied all the the things from documents, pictures and videos into the freshly formatted HDD. (I was copying from the section that was called ‘This PC’ so I’m not even sure whether that fell under the SSD or the HDD) the copies picture files were all working until yesterday when I deleted them under ‘This Pc’ (where the originals were copied from) as I saw they were on the new Data drive on the HDD so assumed they would be fine to be deleted from ‘This PC’.

When I click on the picture IN the new HDD data drive, I can see the file but I get the ‘windows cannot find’ error message. In the error message it gives me the correct file name and path for each picture file, yet it says it cannot find them?

I apologise if this is massively confusing because it’s confused me 😣

What colleague egydiocoelho is asking you and I would like to know is this, have you formatted the spinner HDD and wiped everything off? Because if you did, then you lost your pictures as "'Windows cannot find...' message" means that the pictures weren't copied properly but and if you really need these pictures? Then I would suggest that you take the HDD to a "Data Recovery Technician" where they could restore all your pictures backagain. Also, check all pictures as this could be for some pictures only not all, check them all and see if this error blank message applies to all pictures?

When I cloned the HDD to the SSD, I then reformatted it as there was an empty block where the OS had originally taken up space. It was strange because they were all there and working In the new HDD until last night so I’m not sure. Luckily it’s not a huge picture library so if I can’t get them back it’s not the end of the world. On every picture I tried it gave the message so I assume it applied to everything in the picture library but I will try again and see.
