New GPU doesnt work in aspire x1935 anymore

Hello acer community, i really hope you can help me with this issue.

So, i have an Acer Aspire x1935 and installed a new GPU ( 1050ti ) and the fans are working. But thats also the only thing that works.

When i put the hdmi cable into the 1050ti nothing happens. it doesnt even give an error or something like that. But when i put it in the onboard graphics it works fine. I can even put the cable into the graphics card, boot the computer and then put the cable into the onboard graphics and it works fine.

I had the 1050ti installed before and i got errors and installed a new bios and it worked fine, but now it doesnt anymore. Please help.

Did your gtx1050ti video card work before on the x1935? Also, do you have a power source of at least 300w? Have you ever tried to just disconnect and reconnect the gtx1050ti video card?

Yes it worked before, i upgraded my pc, it. Has 500w power supply. I did reconnect the gpu, tried it multiple times.

Try a power reset. To do this, turn off the computer and disconnect the power cable and set the power supply switch to the "off" position. Then, press the power for 60 seconds. Also, can you test the video card on another computer?

I dont have the option to do this and i dont quiet understand the power reset. Hoe can it reset itself if it has no power?

Ok i tried this and it didnt work, it still just boots up with onboard graphics

I believe the Aspire X1935 came originally with Windows 7. Was it a late enough model to use UEFI boot, or was it still on Legacy MBR booting? If it's Legacy only the 1050 ti may not be compatible, many of those newer cards require UEFI.

Oh and it really confuses me because as i said, the card worked before. It must be something in the bios, but i have no idea what. I really dont dont to buy new stuff and this problem is killing my right now. Please inform somebody who can also help on this issue

MBR/Legacy boot is the way computers used to startup before the OS got loaded. Up until the very end of Windows 7 the BIOS looked on a boot drive for a special bit of code called the Master Boot Record. The MBR would then give it enough info to start the OS. The problem with that was virus makers figured out how to replace the MBR with a virus that would run before the OS, so anti-virus programs couldn't see it. Starting with Windows 8 (and the last bit of Windows 7) everyone went with a new process called UEFI. A UEFI machine doesn't have an MBR so there's no place to put a virus, instead there's a special partition on the hard drive that has signed code that can't be changed to do that initial bit of startup to get the OS going. One of the things that can be done with a UEFI system is to load code for the graphics card before the OS gets going to allow a better splash image during the OS load and the optimize some of the really low level things that a GPU does. The problem with that is that any cards configured that will not work if put into an old MBR machine, because that first bit of code never runs. That might be what is happening with your system.

It also could be the Onboard Graphics that egydiocoelho suggests, but that is supposed to happen automatically when a card is inserted. It also might be as philetus suggests (one of these days I'm going to have to ask if he's a stamp collector [philatelist]), where you haven't connected the extra power to the card. Many newer cards require more power than they can get through the slot and they use either a 6-pin or 8-pin connector to get the extra power from the power supply.
