The Hotkeys including Turbo key are not working. I have windows 10 Pro and I read in a post Acer claims that the keys dont work with Windows 10 Pro. They were not working until i Updated the Bios to 1.07 version and the system reboot and the keys worked i thought its been fixed through bios update. Anyway i accidentally made a new profile for keys under Predator Sence and the keys are dead again. Its not windows fault Acer need to fix it. Its an expensive machine.

Hi, thanks for the advise the only reason i was avoiding trying repairs as its expensive laptop and under warranty. I am repairing laptops from over 15 years and i used to reball CPUs and GPUs.

Anyway I fixed the laptop today. It is indeed the FFC connector fault. Acer has simply used the cheapest and most rubbish quality FFC connectors in this laptop. I can replace it but i avoided it just for the sake of warranty.

    NOW THE SOLUTION.

Place a clear plastic sheet (normally children toys packing) same size as the ribbon cable on top of the cable inside the connector as it presses the ribbon more than as it is pressing now. Use Transpore tape medically used normally as it has good adhesion and can easily be removed, on the entire connector. You may have to use the plastic and tape on both ends of the ribbon. I will also recommend to use the tape on the Track Pad connector. Once done keep the keyboard lifted with one hand and remove the battery connector from other. Now, Press and hold the power button form over 10 seconds. (the charger is NOT plugged in throughout the entire process). Now, Plug the battery Connector back and place the black tape back as it was. KABOOM, start the laptop and it should work as it should.

Hi if you agree and if you are out of return window We can take Acer into small claims as the item is not fit for purpose and has manufacturing fault and claim our money back and return the laptop.

Sorry to hear this, can you please refer to what post you read that? Have you contacted an Acer rep. directly? please keep in mind that our support is for the factory settings configuration, we can only guarantee the functionality of the product from factory settings, if the issue still persists, you will need to do a claim through your local Acer support channels for better assistance.

Note: the Acer Community is not a direct portal to Customer service, the Acer Forum Discussions were designed as a peer to peer support community where Acer users help other Acer users. Many Acer employees (Moderators), read the various topics posted here and you will notice that some Acer employees interact with members when appropriate, primarily we want the community to be a place where members can exchange their own advice and ideas.

    Thanks,

binhbeo in my own personal view thats considered self user damage by any manufacturer as it was working fine before it was disassembled and im pretty sure acer will not cover it under warranty one of the reasons why in most countries they have warranty seals to not allow anyone to open them disassembling laptops especially expensive ones require the correct tools and to be very careful with all the connectors all parts are very sensitive and of course some previous knowledge doing it especially when it comes to more complicated machines anyway good luck :)

Thanks you for your help but last time I check, the connectors are all in order. I just performed a "hard-reset" (holding power button for about 30 seconds I believed), and everything work fine for me, maybe I got lucky......

binhbeo a stock recovery clean install usually its the best to completely rule out any software issues any issues still remaining after that its most probably hardware :)
