For the longest time whenever i unplug the laptop from the monitor the fps is very bad even though its a 144hz screen and has RTX 2060

Can you provide the exact model? Example PT515-51-58VH. Also, check this out:

a) go to the power options place the high performance power plan in the power options;

b) place the intel and nvidia video cards for maximum performance;

c) check if the max frame rate is disabled in the nvidia control panel;

d) uninstall xbox apps;

e) disable batteryboost in the geforce experience settings;
