I recently ppurchased an Acer Predator Helios 300 2018 edition, and was wondering if there was any way I could connect an external 144hz monitor to my 60 hz predator laptop and display 144 hz, and also connect a keyboard as well. I know that I can not directly connect a monitor, and need a docking station, because the laptop does not have a display port slot, and was thinking I could get a docking station that connects to the laptop via USB-C, and then connect the monitor to the docking station via HDMI port 1.4, as well as the keyboard, and display 144hz on the monitor with the laptop screen off through screen extend. The monitor I was thinking of getting was the ASUS VP249QGR 23.8" monitor (https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VP249QGR-Monitor-FreeSync-DisplayPort/dp/B083FMP35T/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=1444hz+monitor&qid=1591892362&sr=8-1) and connect said monitor to the docking station with HDMI 2.0 using this docking station - https://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Display-Passthrough-DisplayPort-901284/dp/B0848HDMPL/ref=sr_1_20?dchild=1&keywords=usb+c+docking+station+with+hdmi+1.4&qid=1591897446&s=electronics&sr=1-20. Would anyone more technically proficient let me know if this would work?
