Hello acer-community,
in 2015 I bought the VN7-791G-782K (1TB HDD, no SSD) and I am very satisfied, except that one of the two notebook fans (the smaller one on the left side) has a tendency to run at over 110% speed for long periods of time, and I just can't find the reason why.
The fan going haywire is not really related to the temperature, it happens even at 40°C CPU/GPU, the air running out being cold. I have opened up the notebook several times and removed all traces of dust on the topside, I don't know however how the motherboard looks underneath since that would require total disassembly of the notebook, which I am still hesitating to do. From what I see of the fans on top there is no dust, and they can work just fine (like the right one does), it's just that the left one seemingly at random starts going wild.
I have an eye on the background processes in task manager, but the fan activity even starts without the notebook working on anything in the background. On some days the fan runs at over 100% for hours without end, on other days after the first 10 minutes of booting not at all or only for short bursts....BIOS, OS, and drivers are up to date...
Can you please help me find the reason?
