Need Help with Hardware Issues on Acer Predator Triton 700 [PT715-51-732Q]

Hi all,

I ended up giving the laptop to my dad so he could have something for work. And so, over a year of heavy (and mobile) use, some issues have come about until he had to recently get a new laptop. Instead of trashing this laptop now, I want to fix it and use it to game and program like I had long before.

There are two main issues:

• CMOS battery holder has come off the motherboard -- and snapped.

  • I don't believe soldering is necessary. The battery socket has two bumps on the bottom side that should click into the two corresponding holes on the motherboard. Then the metal protruding underneath from the motherboard should touch the battery.

    • However, the holder has snapped! I can't seem to find the same one online. What fix could there be? Electrical tape? A general CMOS holder (like)?

• Right-side hinge has broken

  • Metal hinge structure going up the right-side of the display has snapped

    • I found replacement hinges for the Triton 700 (this model) on Amazon: (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-Triton-PT715-51-Right/dp/B07Q76XYFV)... however...

  • Screws are missing

    • Over the year of use... my dad just taped the screen, and the screws ended up falling out I assume. How can I fix this? Would I have to order a general screw set off Amazon? Any recommendations? They are different screws than the underside casing screws.

    • Side note: left side hinge screws are loose. Going to replace those too.

You will be lucky to find an original replacement holder but you can use one of the pieces here https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Coin+cell+holder&_trksid=p2334524.m4084.l1313.TR4.TRC1.A0.H0.XCoin+cell+holder.TRS0&_odkw=coin+cell+holder and diy a little. For the hinges if you get the full set it would be better if you replace both. For the screws take one of the loose ones and go to a local store and buy the same.
