Can I replace the network adapter on my Aspire 5250-BZ467?

It's an older system with an Atheros AR5B95 adapter, I'd really like to upgrade (to 802.11ac?) to take advantage of faster internet speeds.  Wondering if replacing the physical device is possible and compatible.

Replace your Atheros AR5B95 to the newer Atheros AR5BWB222 which is the AR9462 (get it either from eBay or Amazon, they very cheap) which is a single-chip, 2.4/5 GHz, 2-stream 802.11a/b/g/n and BT 4.0 + HS SoC that will work perfectly, this is the WiFi driver for Win-10 64bit get it from here: https://www.ath-drivers.eu/download-driver-for-Atheros-chipset-with-id-76-and-Windows10-64bit.html and this is the Bluetooth Win-10 64bit from here: https://www.ath-drivers.eu/download-driver-for-Atheros-chipset-with-id-78-and-Windows10-64bit.html first, uninstall all the old drivers through " Device Manager" and then install both WiFi and Bluetooth drivers, then press F3 or Fn+F3 together to activate the WiFi/BT drivers and your done and it should work.

I converted the same 2.4G WiFi only card to the 2.4/5g/BT card of the Atheros AR5BWB222 which is the AR9462 and it worked perfectly to give me WiFi and Bluetooth, its a simple plug and play procedure.
