Game lags even though the charger is plugged in.

Scenario #1
Games like Cs Go and Fifa 20 lags a lot when the battery is below 50% even though the charger is plugged in. Doesn't lag if battery is above 60-70% while charging.

Scenario #2

If by mistake while playing, if I press f1 button it goes to sleep, so if I login again the game starts lagging. Before sleep mode it doesn't lag but post that it stutters a lot.

Both the games playing at low graphics 720p.

Performance mode is set in Nvidia Settings.
GPU: MX250 2GB DDR5.

Laptop Model: Acer 5s A515-54G 8th Gen i5 variant with 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and Mx 250 2GB DDR5 10watt GPU.

Battery must be near 100% charged for max play time. You need a more powerful charger if the game drops off below 50% battery charge level because the existing charger can't keep up with the game load + charging the battery at the same time. As for the sleep mode issue, you must go to the advanced setting in your power plan, to set CPU/GPU to 100% after waking from sleep. Jack E/NJ

Why should the game lag if the battery is below 50% and plugged in whereas doesn't lag when the battery is more than 60% and plugged in? The existing charger is the one that has been provided by Acer itself.

Also, My active plan is High Performance. I don't see any option inside Sleep where I can adjust the CPU/GPU % level.

My processor state is at 100% while on battery & plugged in. Intel Graphics power plan is at Max performance.

Like other rechargeables, battery charges at a higher ampere rates as its charge level decreases. Jack E/NJ

I guess you didn't my problem here or maybe I am not being clear with my issue.

The issue is, my laptop is plugged in/charging state.

#Scenario 1: The game is lagging if battery is below 50% while charging. The laptop is charging, it is not going down. But the game lags.

#Scenario 2: The game doesn't lag if battery is above say 70% while charging. The laptop is charging but the difference this currently battery is above 70%.

So, my game lags while charging when battery is below 50% but doesn't lag if the battery is above 70%.

Above 70%, the charger+battery can apparently deliver enough current to satisfy the game demands. Below 50%, charger+battery apparently cannot deliver enough current to satisfy the game demands. So the rule of thumb for maximum laptop gaming time is that the battery should be near 100% charged and charger plugged BEFORE starting the game. Jack E/NJ

But isn't this an odd issue? Is it a compatibility issue? Or is it not configured properly? Or is it the adapter problem? This is the first time I am seeing this in any laptop. Never experienced this kind of issue.

If it is the adapter problem, why is acer providing with low power adapter that cannot meet the demands?

I don't think so. It's common for a battery to lose maximum charge/second delivery capacity (amperes) as it's charge level drops. A fully-charged battery can simply crank out more amps when it's needed to supplement the charger than a half-charged battery. A newer battery ***might*** be able to discharge to 30-40% level before lagging happens but eventually it's gonna lag too. The only option is a higher power 90- or 135-watt charger that typically are used in gaming machines like the predator and nitro series of laptops. But then you start running into overheating throttling issues. Such is the trade-offs for getting a laptop instead of a desktop for playing today's high-load games. Sorry. Jack E/NJ
