Revo RL70 Windows 10 upgrade stuck on Getting devices ready 25%

Started with RL70 Win7 on HDD. Replaced HDD with NTFS formatted 256GB SSD. Installed Win10 Legacy (MBR mode) using USB of image Win10 upgrade from 5/11/2016 that I had. I used this version because it accepted my Win7 product key where other install media did not. I checked my BIOS and it's version P01.A2 (2012/02/13). There is an updated version "UEFI for Windows 8 (Not for Upgrades)" but I didn't want use it based on the name.

I tried installing from both USB and USB DVD drive and both get stuck at "Getting devices ready 25%". I removed everything attached except keyboard and monitor. I've tried waiting in out but it's been 14+ hours now. I've seen at least one other post where RL70 successfully installed Win10. Any tips on getting this to successfully install?

Does the same problem occur when you create a password under change supervisor password and disable secureboot? Also try disabling quietboot.

I think I figured it out. I went into BIOS and disabled Onboard Audio Controller, Onboard LAN Controller, & Onboard CIR Controller. That got me to 75%. Reformatted SSD.
Physically disconnect the IR, wireless card, and headphone/mic board. Installed Win10 successfully. Added wireless mouse. Rebooted successfully.
Update BIOS to enable disabled items. Hooked everything back up. Windows hung on start up.
Left BIOS as is and removed hardware. Booted successfully.
Shutdown & added IR - successful boot.
Shutdown & added headphone/mic jacks board - successful boot.
Shutdown & added wireless card - successful boot. Saw the wifi icon in system tray. So close but keyboard & mouse stopped working.
Hard restart. Windows hangs on start. Removed wireless card. Successful boot.
So seems something in conflict with wireless card.

I couldn't find an updated driver for wireless. I did find a 'fix' issue related to this card (install a different Qualcomm driver) but I can't get machine to boot to select device to install that driver. I do see the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller in Device Manager. There are a couple Other devices, but imagine those just need driver update once I connect to internet.

Any ideas?

Ok, I'm hijacking my own thread. If I should open a new one, let me know.

I was able to use a USB wifi adapter to get network. I updated the drivers for the unknown items in device manager.

It comes down to...USB ports are disabled if factory wireless card is installed. I can see the wifi icon in system tray but can't do anything. Once I remove the card, everything else is good. While I'd really prefer to get the factory card working, if there are no other ideas/options, I'm just going to use the USB wireless. Appreciate any help.

Yes, the wireless card is often the hangup on those older machines. Some cards you can reinstall after you are up and running and drivers will magically appear, but some just aren't compatible. The card in your machine is a mini PCI Express and there are lots of other choices in that form factor. IIRC you have two antennas, so no issues with 802.11g and later there. The slot is not M.2 though, so some of the latest cards don't work. I'd Google "mini pci express wifi card" and choose one of the Intel cards if it were my machine, unless I had a wired connection...

Thanks for that. I'll have a look around. The current card is Realtek RTL8192DE and last drivers were 2013 IIRC. The USB wifi worked pretty well and for a few dollars might just be the way to go. This isn't my primary machine so it's more a nice to have than necessity.
