laptop:- Acer helios 300 PH317-53

I was trying to set up a dual boot with linux and windows on seperate ssds

I did these things before installing linux in bios

  1. RST disable (using ahci instead)

  2. Set BIOS supervisor password

  3. Secure boot disable

  4. enable F12 Windows boot mgr

Then i proceeded to install manjaro with KDE and the installation was successful, but after that when i tried to access bios i just couldn't. There was just a "-" on the top left corner and nothing else

wiping the linux ssd seems to solve the problem

any help would be really appreciated :)

    Good Morning antimony !

This is because the bootloader usually interprets the Grub call and having systems on 2 different disks the error occurs.
My recommendation is always the same ... keep all systems managed by Grub on the same disk drive.

    1. Try to login windows using windows loader (choose from f12) first.
    2. Then shutdown or restart.
    3. Press power on (in case of shutdown) and enter BIOS (F2).

    It helps me.

I managed to fix it by holding the power button for 15 seconds while the laptop is turned off. It will reset the bios and your laptop will restart a few times.
