As i see it there can be two possible ways.
1. Through HDMI
2. Through USB C port
I am looking to make an investment into a G-sync capable monitor for my laptop but i need to know if it will work or not. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure that you have the latest NVIDIA driver version 446.14 released: 27 May 2020 for the GTX 1060 from here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/159888/en-us so that you have the latest G-SYNC features that work with your GTX 1060 graphics card. Your GTX 1060 is compatible with G-SYNC as its on a Pascal Architecture, its got G-SYNC support and its FreeSync Compatible.

    Once installed,

    1. Connect monitor via DisplayPort cable.
    2. Enable FreeSync in your monitor menus.
    3. Enable “G-SYNC Compatible” via NVIDIA Control Panel.
Now in saying all this do the following (as above) connect your G-SYNC monitor up first with a HDMI cable, after you have connected your G-SYNC monitor make sure that you look at this guide "How to Switch between Intel Graphics and Nvidia : FIXED" here: https://www.rushinformation.com/switch-intel-graphics-nvidia-fixed/ after that see your latest and updated "Nvidia Control Panel" and on the left there should be a title called "Set up G-SYNC" set that up, then and once you have done that all should work perfectly.
