Acer Aspire 6 - Wireless Network Adapter disappeared and download from Acer site not working

Hi,

Can anyone help? Have an Acer Aspire 6 and the wifi option has disappeared from my laptop. Upon checking the network adaptors, the wireless network adaptor is missing from the list. I have tried to install the wireless adaptor again from the Acer site and it says that it has installed but the wifi option is not there and the network adaptor is still missing from the list.

Is there something else I should be doing to install this correctly? Tried this a few times but with no success. Any advice gratefully received.

Open device manager→click on your system name→views→show hidden devices
Then, click on action→scan for hardware changes

Now,restart your laptop and check
