Hello, i was thinking of adding an 8gb ram stick to my Acer Aspire a515-51g-50ac so i can play more games on it. Any recommendation on one that could integrate well and work with the intergrated 4gb ram this laptop comes with from factory. i want to get the most out of this computer.

Just to explain to you what your Acer Aspire A515-51G-50AD laptop can take here is an explanation, the max memory of the A515-51G-50AD is 20GB total, it has 1 by slot or 1 bank of removable ram and as you said came with standard memory of 4GB non-removable and is on the mainboard. Now, you can add either one stick of 4GB or 8GB or 16 GB stick of ram at between DDR4-2400 and DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200 SODIMM ram which will could make your A515-51G-50AD at either 8GB or 12GB or 20GB total ram. Go to crucial dot com for  spec recommendations. You don't have to buy from them but what they recommend (micron modules) is usually the best and competitive. Jack E/NJ

well yes i know that but i've been told that different brands / types of ram sticks work better with the integrated ram in my computer than others. I'd just like to know if you have any recommendation on the exact 8 gb ram stick i should buy. Also i'm not too sure if its worth buying more than 8gb addon as the vram is still 2 gigs so i'm afraid it would be a waste of money to get such a high ram count for a mid tier graphics card.

Look, I've used SK Hynix DDR3-1866 SODIMM PC3L-14900S (which I've got in an Aspire v3-571G that has GF GT640M graphics and overheats to buggery lol) and its 7 years old and its worked for 2 years perfectly with no problems and this SK Hynix ram is a higher spec ram that works at 1867MHz (as per Task Manager) and this laptop came with standard 4Gb DDR3 1067MHz.

You can spend money really on nothing with ram and as you said "waste of money to get such a high ram count for a mid tier graphics card" so that is why an SK Hynix or Crutial DDR4-2400 SODIMM PC4-19200Tx8GB Module would be ideal for your A515-51G both of these I've had experience with including G. Skill and they are all compatible with allot of Acer products. One suggestion, the Kingston ram is a bit fussy and incompatible with allot of Acer laptops, so I wouldn't use Kingston to be safe.
