Hi guys,
My laptop has been running really well since I got it around 2 months ago, added in a new 2TB HDD and just today upgraded to 32GB RAM. I've always been a little curious about temperatures as I just don't really know what is considered normal or dangerous. I've tweaked a few settings and undervolted today so I can tell you roughly what my average temperatures have been and what they are now.
Before undervolting and settings changes I was getting around 60C on both GPU and CPU when doing basic things - google chrome/youtube etc. The GPU often drops to around 50 or so too, but fluctuates between 50 and 60. Gaming (mostly GTA V, PES 2020, Clone Hero) I was getting around 92-100 on the CPU (very rarely hit 100, but I've seen it happen) averaging about 96. GPU would be anywhere between 83 and 93. Averaging around 85/86.
Today I changed my power settings in Nitro Sense from Balance [Acer Optimized] to High-Performance. I always have the laptop plugged in when I'm using it. For my undervolt settings I followed this video as I have largely the exact same laptop (only a RAM difference and I have an extra HDD)

After undervolting and settings changes I am now getting around 48-55C on the CPU and 45-50 on the GPU when doing basic things. I just tested with GTA V there for 10 minutes and after 10 minutes of play I was at around 92 for the CPU and anywhere between 80-90 for the GPU, but mostly low 80s. One thing I have noticed is both times I've booted up GTA since undervolting it has crashed after 15 minutes or so, that could be a problem with the game but it seems a little coincidental. Side note: also getting around 45-60 fps in GTA at 1080p on max settings... maybe I'm being too ambitious but I thought this laptop should be able to run that game without mods at a constant 60 no problem.
Just wondering if these settings are normal? I'm aware redoing the thermal paste is an effective way to bring temps down if needed, but I'm not really confident enough to attempt that as I know there is significant risk involved with possibly damaging the hardware.
Thanks for any advice in advance
