How to deal with Edge?
PC : Acer Aspire T3-715
OS : Windows 10 home 64b.
My experience:
1. Bought 2 desktops, T3-715, at the same time.
2. Both PCs, say PCa & PCb, were on my working bench.
2a. PCa was used for one job, post processing RAW image files.
2b. PCa used IE only one time, to download Google Chrome when started to use the PC.
2c. There was no Edge folder in program files, 64 or 86, on C: drive.
2d. Windows Defender would not block downloading & installing third party apps.
2e. And there was no programs running in the background.
2-1. PCb's situation & behavior was quite different from PCa.
2-2. PCb was used for everyday internet jobs, and occasionally used by my children once in a great while.
2-3. PCb's ID or Edge might be used by my children once or twice in three years.
2-4. An Edge folder was in the program files on C: drive.
2-5. Windows Defender & SmartScreen blocked almost every 3rd party app downloading & installing.
2-6. Some programs constantly running in the background.
3. PCa was reinstalled yesterday.
3a. I used IE only one time to download Google Chrome.
3b. No Windows Defender or SmartScreen blocking any downloads & installations.
3c. Edge is in the start menu but no folder in program files on C: drive.
3d. No program running in the background.
3e. And the PC runs smoother & faster.
My question:
Why Windows Defender & SmartScreen behave so much differently one from the other?
Why Edge folder was in program files on C: drive of PCb but not a trance in PCa?
How should I deal with Edge?
Thanks.
