INstalled an extra 8gb Ram on my Acer Aspire t-710, but it isn't registering on my PC

Hi

I bought my Acer which came with intel I 5 6th gen and 12 gb ram.

I installed an 8gb ram to boost my pc to 16gb but it doesn't register, I have made sure it clicked in place and both ends are firmly in the slot and snapped in.

If I run Cpuid it shows 16gb ram under memory tab, but on windows information settings and Bios it only says 8gb installed.

I bought 1600mhz 240-dimm crucial memory, nothing flash or super just something that matched the kingston that was already installed

Is there any way I can run driver updates or do anything to get this to register??

Some chipsets accept both ddr3 and ddr3L. Other chipsets do not accept. You must purchase a ddr3L ram.
