*GPU ERROR* Additional missing steps? Install 970 EVO Plus in to my Predator Helios 500 (AMD Ryzen)

Hi all! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Thank you for stopping by.

When I install my 970 Evo Plus in to my helios predator, I lose graphics performance and receive an error (code 43) under the devices tab for GPU. When I take it back out, the error goes away which makes me think there are some extra steps or some compatibility issues between the graphics of the pcie and my graphics card. Any thoughts?

I do have my old windows with user info etc. already installed on the pcie. 

Running Windows 10.

What happens when you use the amd cleanup utility in safe boot and install the latest driver?
