this happened out of nowhere .. I didn't drop it or harm it ! .. help

i was just gonna close it when i heard a crack and then i found this ! i never dropped it and was never rough with it .. how can this happen
how to fix this and is it even fixable ? the screen still works . help

    Yes it can be fixed. What is happened is the hinge has gotten a bit to stiff and that caused it to pull away from it's mounts. It needs to be disassembled and the hinge either replaced or repaired, depending on what's found. Let us know the full model number and we can look up the part numbers and give you a little more info.

    Ok then, the left hinge is Acer part number 33.GUWN1.002, the right hinge is 33.GUWN1.003 but I assume you don't need that side.
