Is INTEL 512GB 660P M.2 PCIE NVME 3.0 X4 (6GBPS - SSDPEKNW512G8X1) SSD alright for ASPIRE VX15?

My VX15's SSD got broken and due to this, when I start the computer it says "no bootable device found". I was able to come up with this conclusion because I when checked BIOS, my HDD0 Model name and HDD0 Serial Number indicates none but my HDD1 is still there (Toshiba HDD). It also makes sense as my operating system was placed under my SSD drive (Local Disk C) hence it was not able to boot due to my defective SSD.

Since my HDD is just fine (since I cannot buy an SSD during lockdown due to the ongoing pandemic), as a temporary solution can I install my OS in my working HDD? Do I still have to worry about getting a new license?

Side question: Since I'm already buying a new M.2 SSD, I'm also planning to upgrade my RAM. Is it fine to pair my 8gb DDR4 RAM with a 16gb DDR4 RAM with a different brand?

Thank you a lot in advance for your knowledgable advice.
