Can I replace the HDD with just one SDD on an Acer Aspire E5-575G-31 LP ?

Hello everyone. My dad has an E5-575G-31 LP. He only plays World of Tanks and Warface; watches series and movies online. He is complaining about the fact that he is stuck in Loading a lot and by the time the game (WoT) loads, the mission has already started by a few minutes. I was thinking to replace the HDD with just one SDD, he doesn't need a lot of space because he only plays these 2 games. Can it be done and which are the compatible SDD models for this laptop.
Characteristics are: 
Laptop ACER Aspire E5-575G-31LP, Intel® Core™ i3-7100U 2.4GHz, 15.6" Full HD, 4GB, 1TB, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 2GB, came with Linux but now has Windows 10.
