Camera was working recently using Google hangouts. Needed to install Skype and had installation troubles. Subsequently, Google hangouts and any other camera apps no longer working "We can't find your camera". Have tried updating/reinstalling driver, windows updates, finally reinstalling windows after troubles with Windows Update.
I now have a clean install of windows 10 pro, have installed Acer Crystal Eye Webcam software with compatibility troubleshooting, have tried again updating driver and downloading drivers from other sources ie Driverguide, etc. The only other app installed on system is Google Chrome.
Hardware detector:
Camera Chicony
Device Manager Hardware Ids:
USB\VID_04F2&PID_B1D8&REV_5563&MI_00
USB\VID_04F2&PID_B1D8&MI_00
Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 OS Build 18363.778
32 bit operating system
Is there a compatible driver somewhere, or another way to make camera work again? Thank you

There have been a lot of people in the last few weeks who have had their camera just disappear. I think it's something related to a recent Windows update and expect they'll fix it soon. Most of the normal troubleshooting doesn't seem to help. :(

Agree with billsey, simiar problem for a Spin 3.  I've tried uninstalling all USB devices so they re-enumerate, installing Chicony and Crystal and Suyin drivers, tried everything you could think of but it sits in the USB section as 'device descriptor failed'.
Yol, can you still see yours as a camera in device manager?

Thanks billsey and bradspin3 for your replies. This is really bad timing for broken cameras.
Yes, Cameras shows up in Device Manager, also have had Imaging Device displayed instead using a different driver. Under Cameras was 1.3M Webcam, now showing USB Video Device since recent clean install. I hope they find a fix for this soon, thanks again
