Help identifying issue with Acer ED7

Hello Acer community,

I have been having a seemingly random issue with my Acer ED7 34" 100hz 1440p ultrawide monitor. I have it set to sleep the monitor after 15 min of inactivity and occasionally (maybe one in 20 times), when I wake it up, the screen seems to be "shifted" up on the right side of the monitor in contrast to the left side. When this happens, either switching inputs and switching back or unplugging my DP cable and plugging it back in fixes it. Is there something that can be done to fix this issue?

This issue has happened on 3 different video cards (GTX 1070, 1080 and 1080ti) so I don't think it's a video card issue.

My guess is it's waking up in a confused state, maybe with the refresh rate wrong? What happens when you are in the error state and you power cycle the monitor? When it happens has the computer gone to sleep as well as the monitor?

The computer itself is always on but the monitor is set to sleep after 15 min or so. I do this because the power button can be quite tricky to operate correctly. It happens when I wake the monitor from sleep and will show up as the screenshot I posted. When in this state, the monitor is operating and at 100hz and if I power cycle the monitor or unplug/replug the displayport cable the issue will correct itself.

Also, I don't know if this is an issue or if it's working as intended, but if I pull the power plug out from the back of the monitor, the USB3 type B cable connected to my computer has enough power to keep the blue led lit and will not power cycle until I also unplug the USB 3.0 type b cable from the back of the monitor.

Yes, that's not surprising, the power all muddles together in there. Try this, set your computer to never sleep and wait for a half hour or so, so you know the computer is still awake but the monitor is asleep. Try and wake it up. If it wakes fine it might be an issue with how the computer is sleeping the monitor, rather than the internal sleep the monitor does. If it's broken there try disabling sleep on the monitor side and have the computer go to sleep after 15 minutes. Wait a half hour and see if waking the computer leaves the monitor correct. That would point more toward it being the monitor's sleep mode rather than the computer sleep.
