Sent in Predator Helios 300 PH317-51 for Overheating, WiFi disconnect Issues What did they do??
I barely made it in before the warranty expired, but got my claim approved to send it in for repairs. The main issue was overheating. After 3 minutes of playing any game, temps would spike to 212f, and even hit 218 at one point. It got so hot that I honestly think you could cook an egg on it. I figured it might need to replace the thermal paste. There were also constant disconnections with the WifI and the ethernet port had been failing off and on. Also has some issues with it restarting on its own and at one point, thought I had the blue screen of death.
I waited 3 weeks and finally received it back today. I was so excited until I saw the repair form. They replaced the upper and lower case, the only other thing they did was replace a cable KB FPC, part number 50.Q2MN2.006.
I looked up the upper and lower parts and it looks like they are just the plastic covering. There's no mention of fixing anything that I sent it in to be fixed. Now my warranty is out of date and I can't get anyone on the phone. It puts me on hold, tells me I'm out of warranty, and send me to talk with a third party place that says they can't help me. What the hell am I supposed to do with this? Any ideas?
