Is there a way to disable the FN key function??

Hi there


I have just purchased a new Acer Aspire C27 all in one PC and it came with a wireless keyboard an mouse which work great apart from one issue.... The FN key..

Is there a way to completely disable the FN key function as I use the F keys in some games that I play?

I have looked everywhere online and cannot find a solution, there is no option in BIOS or virtual keyboard, FN+ESC just switches which function works...

The keyboard model is KBRFCR...

    sorry for late reply.....

    It just opens up settings page as it would without holding the FN key..

    This model has two fn keys! What happens when you press the right fn + esc keys? Because they have two fn keys, I think they control different functions, but I'm not sure about that.

    Yes if I press the FN+esc key it just swaps which function it does...…  I was trying to disable the FN function altogether.

    Maybe I will have to buy a keyboard that does not have FN keys haha

    The keyboard model is KBRFCR

    When I press the right FN+Lock key it just locks my desktop...

    I don't think I can completely disable the fn functions. However, what happens when you assign the wrong driver for the keyboard in the device manager?

    Hello, I have the same keyboard on an Acer C24 and it's so frustrating that the Function key is locked on. No option to disable in the BIOS. Acer Quick Access doesn't have any keyboard options. There is no lock key to press Esc + Lock and there is no Numlock key to try either.

    This worked for me if this helps anyone else with the same problem:
    1. I went into Device Manager - Keyboards - HID Keyboard Device
    2. Right clicked and went to Properties
    2. Clicked on Driver Tab -> Driver Details
    3. Selected the other driver: kbdclass.sys & OK

    Now the Function key is no longer locked. I can now rename files using F2 and refresh webpages using F5.
