I've wanted to upgrade my laptops hdd to an ssd and in a conversation with one of my friends he said i should just get the new drive install windows (as i am still having lots of issues with my windows install) then just get all the drivers and stuff from the website. I was wondering would this method work to make the computer seem as if it had just come out of the box? Or should i clone the files to the new drive and factory reset the new drive and then transfer the files from the old drive to the new one.

If it was mine, I'd probably set the old drive aside and not clone it with all its issues onto the new drive. Then I'd either install the freebie generic Microsoft Win10 version on the new drive and download the ACER drivers and apps for your machine--- or---- purchase the original factory ACER-flavored Win10 USB stick based on your machine's serial number id (SNID). About $50USD in US or CA. Either way, you can then access all the personal files and programs on your old drive. Jack E/NJ
