Unfortunately , when I got my Nitro 5, I was not aware that the Ethernet port latch will break this easily (photo attached), so i would have stayed away from this laptop, I am now completely unable to use the Ethernet port unless i replace the whole  button cover of the laptop (which the Ethernet latch is a part of).
Now I have noticed this laptop have a type C port, I do have a Toshiba travel adapter  (photo attached) which i use to connect to Ethernet on my work Mac Pro laptop using type C USB port, but it does not work on my Nito 5.
Any one can provide me wit advice/ experience with this type C situation? is it possible to do it? It does work on my mac as i stated, but not the windows 10 Nitro 5.

Thank you

You have to install the drivers for the in-build NIC and after that it should work.

    So, no issue now?
Please have in mind that the HDMI and the VGA ports are not supported by USB-C 3.1 gen1 (like yours) and they will not work.

Right, I am only trying to use Ethernet, USB port on the adapter won't work either. the issue still i can't connect to Ethernet.
the Ethernet lights on the adapter actually turn on for a while and then they go off, then on then off, but the connection is not seen or detected on my laptop, so no connection.

Maybe because it is a combined dock, you may have to try dedicated one like this : https://www.amazon.com/Gigabit-Ethernet-Network-Adapter-U436-06N-GBW/dp/B0143Q63WA

Yes, i thought about that yesterday, but these days shipping takes forever.
I thought in these days I can still use WiFi although signal is week because the router/AP is in the living room, and I am in my room, however I just remembered that I have a Ubiquiti NanoStation M2 range extender and AP repeater which i purchased back in 2015 for some project but I never used it, so I unpacked it and put it in my room since I have Ethernet cable from the router extended into  in my room already , so i hooked the Nanostation into it, I now I have very strong WiFi signal  in my room. I was little worried that Nanostation signal is too strong that it might not be healthy for me (i think it has a range of several kilometers), so I reduced the power output from it a little

    Thanks for help
