Hi all,
I purchased an Acer Nitro about a year ago (517-51). The included SSD is great, but I want to go ahead and add the optional HDD. So just a few questions:

1.) Will any 2.5" SATA work? Or do I need something specific?
2.) It came with a ribbon and screws in the box, but will I also need a mount? Or is that already on the inside of the laptop? Or do they ususally come included with HDD purchase?
3.) Anything else I should consider since I'm new at this? I was able to unscrew the bottom earlier this year and add some RAM. That was easy enough, but not sure how different this will be. Should've paid attention more attention to the inside while I had it open, I suppose.

Thanks

    Hello,
    1. Any 2.5` SSD/HDD up to 2TB will work
    2. Caddy should be in the laptop already
    3. Look at the picture below to see where to connect the SATA cable

Oh hi and thank you! Can you recommend a decent 1TB HDD then? Something reliable and not too expensive? Does ACER recommend a particular one?

By the prices (not current but before the situation) of the SSDs I personally would not buy an HDD as this is an obsolete technology already, so unfortunately I can`t recommend any HDD

One more question. I found that some drives are 7mm in height and some are 9.5mm. Will this make a difference? What mm height do I need?
