Chromebook CB3-431 - webcam / camera is not working. It says the camera is currently unavailable.

I have never tried to use it so dont know if it has ever worked. Please help!

    @danielsfamily UPDATE THE CHROME OPERATING SYSTEM 
    1. Click the status area (where your account picture appears).
    2. Click Settings > About Chrome OS (which is located at the top of the window).
    3. In the “About” window that appears, click Check for and apply updates

    Thank you.
    Tried this already and the operating system is up to date.
    I just keep getting a black pop up window that says 'your camera is currently unavailable. Please check if the camera is properly connected'

    Chrome has a feature that blocks the camera automatically for websites and apps. You need to enable camera access for each site you want it to be available.
