Hi experts, I have replaced my Acer laptop's internal battery with a new one. After charging it for around 3.5 hours, it's still not switching on. But it's charging it seems (blue light is on). Could anyone suggest, how long should I keep it on charge before using it? If 3.5 hours charging is enough what else could be the issue for not turning ON ? Appreciate your help. Thank you

With the charger plugged in, press & hold the power button for about 10 seconds. Then wait a few minutes. Then press the power button to try to turn the machine on again. Jack E/NJ

JackE, thank you for your advice. I tried what you posted multiple times but no use. System is not responding. Any possibility for SMPS failure?

If the battery charge LED isn't lit or doesn't eventually turn from orange to blue, then yes the charger is suspect. Using a multimeter, open circuit voltage should be about 19vdc between the plug's outer ring and center connector. Jack E/NJ
