I’ve had the aspire 515-51 for about a year and half and have ran into a few problems. First being that it takes multiple try’s (hours) to turn on and finally when it powers on some of the keys don’t work properly. I have to press down on some of the keys I order for them to be typed out. I have tried dealing with the power problem by holding the battery button down then holding the power button but it doesn’t work. When I have the power cable plugged in the blue light indicating that the laptop is fully charged is lit up so I don’t know if it’s a battery issue a key issue or something else. PLEASE HELP!

Perhaps the best ways to rule in or rule out a hardware issue, is an ALT+F10 cold boot factory refresh or full reset. Shut the machine completely off. Then press and hold ALT+F10. Then turn the machine back on. A recovery screen should appear as in the video below. You have a choice of refreshing the machine while trying to save your personal files and installed programs OR a full remove everything factory reset. In either case, you should back up any really important files on a thumbdrive before doing so. Jack E/NJ

Which keys have the problem? Is it in just a certain area of the keyboard or randomly located?

I guess you need to reset once to the factory setting. Or you can refresh the PC which also seems to work in many cases as i can tell this seems like a software misbehaving in someway.
