hi all,

I have a SP314-53GN-543F (NX.HDCEH.004). I have searched the web if the motherboard as onboard RAM or a slot so I can upgrade the standard 8GB ram, does anyone know this?

Also, is there room for an second SSD or what storage device does it use? M2?

Thanks ready!,

    Hi,
If you have a 8GB on-board memory, you can upgrade up to 24GB by adding a 16GB DDR4 2400MHz/2666MHz module, as for the storage, you have a M.2 SSD slot and a 2.5" HDD slot available.

    Thanks for the fast reply!

How do I know if I have memory onboard? I don't want to open it unneccessary.

Second what slot is standard used for storage, the m2 or 2.5?

    Hi,
No problem, go to Device Manager, expand Disk Drives to find the storage in your laptop, download and install CPU-z, run it and go to SPD tab and check slot1 and slot2, if you are in any doubt, please post the snip like mine.

It says in slot1 4GB, slot 2 is totally greyed out. So I assume 4 GB is onboard and I have 1 slot that has now 4GB of memory module in it?

Secondly I have a hfm256gdjtng-8310a as harddisk so an M2, does the mainboard have a pci-e connector or sata for a second HDD?

SATA for the second, though yoour machine might not have come with the cable for the HDD/SSD.

thanks, how about the memory, is it correct? 4Gb onboard and 4Gb in slot 1?

That's what it sounds like. They did some motherboards with 8GB onboard but that would be reflected in the CPU-Z results. So you can replace the 4GB in the slot with an 8GB or 16GB.

Do you know what ram module (brand) works the best?

DDR4 2666MHz matches what you have, so it'll be best. You don't want to mix speeds, everything runs at the slowest of the memory when they're mixed. So something like this one, but look for your best price with good availability.
