Hello,

What's the best way for a dual monitor setup with my an715-51 laptop? looks like I can use the HDMI port and the USB 3.0 and just get an adapter to convert to HDMI since the monitors ill be running would have VGA/HDMI ports. Would I have to do anything to get the extended display setup?

The AN715-51 doesn't support video out through the USB-C port. To attach the second monitor you'll need a docking station off the USB that support video. Those docking stations have their own video circuit so don't need the DP over USB-C function.

    Hi,

I'm curious as well isn't there any other solution over USB A with a USB - HDMI adapter?
That is pretty said if I need a docking station to have dual monitor setup.

Nope, the adapter needs to have the extra smarts built in for the video, so a dock is the cheapest solution.
