Acer Predator Helios 300 (PH315-51) Integrated Cam Not Working

ERROR CODE : 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> (0x800706F7)

THINGS I HAVE DONE:

1) Tried uninstalling/reinstalling webcam drivers via DEVICE MANAGER however, I couldn’t find the driver in the first place even after going to view and toggling show hidden devices. I checked under Cameras, Imaging software, Sound, video and game controllers and Other devices.

2) Gone to camera privacy settings to make sure the camera is turned on and that app access is turned on as well.

3) Updated System Bios

4) Tried to turn on camera via bios on startup but didn’t see any option to.

5) Install other webcam apps but they also didn’t work

6) Reinstalled windows 10 from a flash drive while keeping personal files (didn’t work)

7) Search for webcam specific drivers from Acer but couldn’t find any.

8) Threatened to slap my laptop around.

Been working from home during this period and had to join a team meeting on Zoom, that’s was when I noticed this issue. I don’t use the webcam often so I can’t really place a time period for when this issue began. I attached some helpful images: error message from default camera, error message from alternative camera downloaded from the Microsoft store, device manager screenshot and dxdiag system info. Any help on this would be great. Thanks!

(Before doing this step, backup your registry it will take 2-3mins very easy to backup you can Google if you don't know how to do)

registry edit might be among the best fixes. Edit the registry as follows.

First, open Run with the Windows key + R hotkey. Then users can open the Registry Editor by entering regedt in Run and clicking OK.
Open this registry path in the Registry Editor:
- <strong>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeMicrosoftWindows Media Foundation</strong>
Double-click Windows Media Foundation on the left of the Registry Editor.
Right-click a space on the right of the Registry Editor’s window and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Enter EnableFrameServerMode as the title for the new DWORD.
Then double-click EnableFrameServerMode to open the window in the shot directly below.
Input 0 in the Data value text box, and click the OK button.
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WOW6432Node > Microsoft > Windows Media Foundation > Platform.
Repeat steps 4-6 if you own the 64-bit version of Windows.
Restart your PC to update those changes.

Just to clarify, do I create new 32 DWORD and 64 QWORD values? Or just 64 QWORD since I have the 64-bit version of windows.

@deusEdge99 i CHECKED usb boot showing under camera. You need to rename USB boot to HD Webcam then restart system.
And is there is norton installed on your system? If yes then 1st follow this

Start Norton (click on window icon search norton click on it)
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.
In the Norton main window, click Settings.
In the Settings window, click SafeCam.
In the SafeCam window, move the SafeCam Feature switch to Off

I don't have Norton installed. I renamed USB boot to HD Webcam and restarted but that didn't seem to do anything. I remember at one time that there was an "Integrated camera" under imaging devices. I would see it when I used the show hidden option, its no longer there now though its not even an option when I try to add legacy device...

1)Uninstall hd webcam and then scan for hardware changes restart system
2)completely update your window

I uninstalled the HD Webcam, scanned for hardware changes and updated windows then restarted but the error code remains and the HD Webcam name changed back to USB boot.

Hold on!! You didn't rename correctly or my mistake.

Rename again usb boot to HD WebCam

Rename exact i written then restart system and check

Did you made registry edit in correct path?
Again check with every world

Run window app troubleshoot and reset camera

Tried all solutions like Editing Registry, Updating driver and uninstalling and reinstalling camera driver in Device manager. Also disabled the camera permission to all other apps. But, I'm still facing the same problem. Can I anyone suggest the solution that actually works?

Having the same problem. tried everything. Please anyone help. My teacher don't allow me in online class without a camera.

I was having the same issue, tried everything i could found on the internet but nothing helped. At last i plugged my external webcam from PC to laptop suddenly my camera started working *yes laptop integrated camera* don't know how but weirdly it did work even though not for long next day same issue again. Plugging in and out external camera seems to fix this issue temporarily.
What you can do is to get someone's external camera, plug in and plug out then check for the camera app or may be reverting windows updates might fix this even though not helped me. I'm on Windows 10 Pro version 2004 build 19041.450.
