How to reinstall network adapter.

Hi, My Asus Eee book usually works well throughout the house with wireless internet, but today it stopped and would only pick it up if I put it next to the router. To try to fix it, I read that I had to uninstall and delete the network adapter via device manager and that it would then reinstall via 'scan for hardware changes', but it didnt reinstall it and now the entire wireless icon has disappeared and I have no way of connecting to the internet. I have tried everything I can think of, but I have very limited computer knowledge so this forum is my last resort. How can I reinstall the network adapter? Thank you in advance to anyone who may be able to help me.

Thank you for your help. I checked again and it's an Asus Eee Book, so I've realised I'm on the wrong Forum..... but I will follow your instructions on the Asus site. My problem is that I can't now connect to the internet, so am not sure how I can download, but I will try connecting with a cable directly. Thank you.

@pandora5 both are same next time post in Asus site.
You need to enter your model no. In ASUS driver site then in drivers download wlan driver and install then restart system.

Hi. The problem is that because I've uninstalled the driver, I can't connect to the internet. The EeeBook is small so doesn't have the connection port to use a cable and so I have no way to download the driver. If you have any idea how to get around this, I would be very grateful.

Hi, no, I don't have a phone..... but we searched through our box of wires and cables and found the gadget to connect directly to the internet. Once connected, I followed your advice and went to the Asus site and downloaded the driver and the wireless connection is back up and running, so thank you so much for all your help. I haven't tried to connect from downstairs yet which was the original issues before I stupidly uninstalled the driver, so I'll try connecting from downstairs now. Thank you again, it's amazing that there are people kind enough to go out of their way to help others.

I just tried connecting from downstairs, but it comes up as no available connections. This computer has always worked from everywhere in the house, so if you know why it's suddenly stopped being able to connect unless I'm in the same room as the router, please let me know.

@pandora5 before going try to go to device manager →click on your desktop name→action→scan for hardware changes→restart after restart check if problem solved.

If this problem not solve contact asus support i don't know about eeebooks
