I bought this gaming laptop last year 2019 from Best Buy in Newmarket, Ontario. Since then I have never tried to use this laptop on battery power. It doesn't work on battery and when I look into what settings are for battery, it is at 0%. What is wrong with this battery and what should I be doing to make it work. I unplugged everything and plugged everything back in and it still isn't working. Can someone help me out here? Thanks so much.

@clorey77You could try reinstalling Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control method battery driver, go to Device manager, expand Batteries, right click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control method battery, select Properties and go to Driver tab, uninstall the driver, reboot and let Windows install the driver.

After restart check if your problem solved

Hi, thank you for the suggestion, but after I did your instructions, the battery still is at 0. I see an update for Insyde from 2017, but it says the battery must be at least 20% to do this update. How can I do this if the battery is not charging? Can you help me again?
I haven't done any of the updates that Acer recommends. Would updating Windows 10 update all the proper drivers etc.? I think maybe the BIOS needs updating. Is this what the Insyde update if for? Also, why can't I download the Acer Care Centre on this laptop?
    Thanks, Loretta

    Hi,
    Try to reset the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 15 sec. Unplug the charger and leave it for 15-20 min. Plug the charger and power on.

Is the charger the box that gets plugged into the outlet and the other end goes into the computer for power? I just want to make sure I know what you mean by the charger.

I have done what you said to do, but there still isn't any battery charge, it still says 0.
Do you think the Insyde update that I can't do has anything to do with this battery being 0?

BIOS update is risky but recommended when there is an issue, do you know how to update?

I can`t see any BIOS which fixes battery problem so maybe there isn`t any in the first place with this model. Could be that the battery life is ended suddenly.

Hi again, I have never used my Acer laptop on battery, it is always plugged in to an outlet. Just yesterday I tried to use it on battery and of course it wouldn’t work. How could the battery be dead if I have never used it? Maybe the battery has never been working. What do you think about this?
