Hi there
I have a very similar problem with my monitor as mentioned here on the xg270hu -

https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/498557/xg270hu-screen-blacking-out-randomly?breakffcache=d8242

Screen blacks out randomly while playing games . I have tried two different PC's with two different Nvidia cards, both of which were well above minimum game specs on a few different titles I have tried.
At first I thought it was the cards, but then I found this post about another Acer monitor doing the same sort of thing .

Ive tried  -
Different monitor  -  Lower res but fine
Different hdmi leads
latest drivers on cards
Turning freesync off
Checked input ports, all good

Current spec -
Windows 10 x64
i5 9400f cpu
nvidia gt 1030 gpu
16gb ddr4 2666 ram

Ive heard you can update the firmware but I dont see how .

Any help please ??????????

Try to update the monitor drivers
Try power drain: unplug all the wires that goes to the back of the monitor including the power cable and press and hold the power button om the monitor for 30 seconds and than check

Thanks Jack 22. I've not had much luck in actually finding a driver for the monitor on Acers site. The monitor shows up in device manager under its correct name , and when you ask Windows to update driver online, it eventually comes back and says the most up to date driver is installed. Cant say I've ever trusted Windows to find drivers online though .

As for updating the firmwear. God only knows where you find it , let alone install it onto the monitor !!!!

If you have any idea how I would go about these two issues I would appreciate the help .

Holding the power button for 30 secs without anything plugged in . Now I'm crossing my fingers here because this might have actually worked !!! I tried it, and before turning on the PC I installed a news graphics card ( not as part of this fix I just happened to have bought a new one ) . Anyway, after setting the monitor back up, and installing the new gpu card, I had an hours worth of gaming with no random black screens !!! Still got my fingers crossed though .

    Thanks, Gary
