Aspire V5-591G-75GP cannot find Chromecast 3 to cast

Hello everybody,

I apologize if this question was asked already somewhere else and I did not find it:
I am trying to cast the Chrome tab from my Aspire V5-591G-75GP to my Chromecast 3. However, the Chromecast does not come up as an option and Chrome cannot find any sources. The problem has to be somewhere in the Acer, since casting to the Chromecast works with an iPhone, a Huawei phone, and a Dell Precision 5510 notebook without problems.

I switched off Avast antivirus and the Windows 10 firewall to check if those are the problem, but this did not solve the issue. In addition, I updated the drivers of the Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter (driver version 12.0.0.722).

Does someone know the answer to my problem?

On the Dell, open DeviceManager. Click network adapter folder. Right click wifi adapter. Click properties. Click advanced tab. Check each property setting value. Then try the same property settings with the ACER. Jack E/NJ

Sadly, changing the adapter settuings did not work. Also, the Dell wifi adapter has many more options, while Qualcomm of my Acer only has 6.

Have you tried uninstalling chrome yet? Then download and re-install it? https://www.google.com/chrome/

That would have been a good one, because I did not do it yet. However, I did it now and it did not solve the problem.

By now, I tried a couple of things: I reset my netwok settings, I reset my Chromecast to factory settings again, and I tested a 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card in both my Acer and the Dell.
My Acer was not able to find the Chromcast with the wireless card, but it had connection to the internet. For the Dell notebook, both worked, internet and conneting to the Chromecast. This indicates that it is not the fault of the wifi adapter, but possibly the software somewhere...

Regarding the reset of the Chromecast, I did this twice. The first time, I set everything up with my phone and it worked for everything, but the Acer. The second time, I connected to the Chromecast on its wifi with my Acer and tired to set it up via https://www.chromecast.com/setup on Chrome, but it could not make the connection. The Dell could not connect either. This is quite logical since they moved everything to the mobile app...

Any other suggestions for a solution somewhere on the software level that do not include reinstallation of Windows 10?

PS: I ran the network inspection of Avast and it was able to detect the Chromecast in the network on my Acer...

PPS: It seems that I cannot ping 192.168.1.1

Fixed the ping issue, but that was not the problem...

I thought we agreed to uninstall Avast!? Why are you still using this? It's no longer necessary. Jack E/NJ

Okay, I give up! It might be some stupid problem between the router ZyXEL T50 and my Acer: With the Dell I can ping and login to the router on a browser, but with the Acer I cannot even contact the router via the internet browser, while being connected to the internet through the same router. I have never experienced something like this before...

Can you ping it or not from the ACER command prompt? What happens when you enter the quad dot address in the browser? You must get some kind of error message. What is the SSID of the router? Do you have the router setup password auto saved in the Dell but not the ACER? Get rid of AVAST. Jack E/NJ
