Hi, i have Aspire V7-582P. There is 8 GB RAM total, 4GB is fixed, 4GB is in slot. Specification says that NB could handle 12GB (4 fixed+8 in slot). But after change RAM modul, NB not start. Only keyboard backlight blinks in regular intervals (cca 3s). So i tried another type of RAM modul (1st was DDR3L, another one was DDR3), but everything was same. Weird thing is, that when i remove original 4GB memory modul and try to start NB only with fixed 4 GB, it is not working again and keybord backlight blinking too. So only working configuration is the original one 4 + 4. Does anyone have any idea, what could be wrong?

    Hello,
I would try this to check if the laptop works with only 4GB on-board:
    1. Shut down your laptop
    2. Unplug the AC adapter.
    3. Remove the original memory module of 4 GB
    4. Press and hold the Power button down for 15 seconds.
    5. Plug the AC power adapter
    6. Press the Power button normally to start your laptop
Do you still have the DDR3L memory module?

    Hello, thanks for hints.

I tried reproduce your steps, unfortunatelly those not helps. Keyboard was still blinking and laptop not starting. But it give me idea. This steps looks like they should reset something, so what if i try to unplug battery? I tried to push small battery reset button on mainboard for cca 5s and then press power button. And it works.

Unfortunatelly i had to return DDR3L memory modul back to the store, but i had still second one DDR3. So i tried it and it works too.

For next generetation - part number is KCP3L16SD8/8

    and steps are
    1. Shut down your laptop
    2. Unplug the AC adapter.
    3. Remove the original memory module of 4 GB
    4. Press and hold the Power button down for 15 seconds.
    5. my humble addendum :-) Try unplug and plug again battery (not sure if that battery reset button unplug CMOS or main battery, maybe anybody can tell)
    6. Plug the AC power adapter
    7. Press the Power button normally to start your laptop

Thank you again laurent_14 and have nice day.

On the Aspire V7-582P you can use:
    1. 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM - DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 1024Meg x 642.
It might be that the onboard 4GB ram has to be compatible with your removable ram and Crutial lits this as compatible with your V7-582PG as they dont hve the V7-582P.
