I have the PH517-51 i7 variant. I installed two 2TB Samsung EVO 970 NVMe's and one 2TB Samsung QVO. I later changed them to two 1TB Samsung EVO Plus 970 NVMe's and one 4TB Samsung QVO. The QVO is a 2.5 inch SSD variant. I chose this setup as having 2TB on the NVMe's was unnecessary and the QVO is a data storage facility. The old drives are now externals and used as backups.

If you choose to get the same setup, ensure that what ever HDD/SSD you get, it MUST be the slim drive (7mm) or it won't fit. The cover won't close properly. Also, if you plan to overclock, consider upgrading the cooling of the NVMe's as it can get quite hot depending on who the manufacturer is of the NVMe. I found slim aluminum and copper heat sinks designed for NVMe's and to fit into laptops. You'd have to remove the stock copper heat sink from the Helios though. Also, when changing the drives, be careful with the screws. Mine were stuck into the mount and landed up unscrewing the mount with the drive so caution is advised as to not damage anything.

Another thing to consider is the RAM. I've upgraded mine to 32GB using Transcend RAM with the stock RAM. So far all has been great and it's been in use for over 1 year now without any problems.

Good luck and enjoy the powerhouse laptop.

Well, if an user reported that 2tb is working with the system, I don`t see an issue why this one will not work and you can always return it if it is not working.
