My 315-41-R8UU Webcam driver is missing.

Last year on deployment my integrated webcam driver was removed by the IT's for security reasons. I checked the Acer website ro reinstall the driver and the driver for my model is not located under "Drivers" or "Applications". Can anyone help me find the correct imaging/camera driver for my laptop? Neither the camera or imaging devices are available in device manager and when I go to add legacy hardware it asks for a disk that I don't have. When I bring up the Webcam Application I receive the error 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>. I don't have a restore point from before deployment to fall back to (Lesson Learned). I've searched a few of these threads, but nothing I've tried has worked. Thanks in advance.

step A

click on window icon thenEnter troubleshoot in the search box, and click Troubleshoot settings.
Next, select the Microsoft Store App troubleshooter within the Settings window that opens.
Then click the Run this troubleshooter button.
Thereafter, users can go through the resolutions provided by the troubleshooter.
Restart Window and check

STEP B

Click on window icon Camera app and right click on the camera app result
Under right-click context menu select App settings
Under camera app settings, scroll and locate & hit the reset button
Confirm your action by selecting the reset button and again

After doing above steps make sure you give permission go to settings and click on the Privacy category. Select Camera under the App permissions section on the left. On the right panel, you have to turn on the setting “Allow apps to access your camera“. Scroll down to locate the Camera app and grant permission for it to access the webcam.

That’s it. Now check and see if Windows 10 Camera app is working.

STEP C

There is norton antivirus that comes preinstalled on acer laptop follow these step i know because antivirus installed in my laptop also

Start Norton (click on window icon search norton click on it)
If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.
In the Norton main window, click Settings.
In the Settings window, click SafeCam.
In the SafeCam window, move the SafeCam Feature switch to Off

This is feature is on by default you need to turn off

STEP D

click on window icon enter camera in its search box.
Select Camera privacy settings in search results to open the window shown directly below.
If that window states Camera access to this device is off, users will need to click Change and toggle the Camera access for this device option on.
Then turn the Allow apps to access your camera option on.
Check that the webcam app you’re trying to utilize the camera with are also enabled under the Choose which apps can access your camera subheading.
Restart Windows after adjusting camera settings.

STEP E

registry edit might be among the best fixes. Edit the registry as follows.

First, open Run with the Windows key + R hotkey. Then users can open the Registry Editor by entering regedt in Run and clicking OK.
Open this registry path in the Registry Editor:
- <strong>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeMicrosoftWindows Media Foundation</strong>
Double-click Windows Media Foundation on the left of the Registry Editor.
Right-click a space on the right of the Registry Editor’s window and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Enter EnableFrameServerMode as the title for the new DWORD.
Then double-click EnableFrameServerMode to open the window in the shot directly below.
Input 0 in the Data value text box, and click the OK button.
Restart Windows after editing the registry AND CHECK

I tried all above steps (I had my hopes up that the registry would fix it), but the camera app still comes up with the same error. I believe it's a driver issue, due to the fact that no "imaging devices" or "cameras" are located in the device manager. Would either or you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to know where I can go to download them? The Acer site does not have the camera driver for download on the website (I"m not sure who manufacturers integrated webcams) and I really don't want to download anything from a third party vendor.

I've now gone as far as completely reinstalling windows and all drivers except the "camera/imaging devices" drivers were reinstalled. I also crossed my fingers that Windows Update would eventually reinstall them which it never did.

The rush for this is of course online classes for my son and wife due to the COVID pandemic. Thank you for your help so far and any additional help you can provide!!

@pegramce is there is camera showing in device manager if not then

Click on your desktop name→action→scan for hardware changes→restart system and check again

Computer is rebooted and it still doesn't see the camera. I also checked the BIOS as a dummy check but luckily it isn't even an option to disable the camera there on this laptop. Everything I've read said that WIN 10 should automatically reinstall the drivers on a reboot. I've been wrecking my brain for a few days on this and the camera definitely worked prior to deployment.

Go to device manager click on your desktop name→action→add legacy hardware→next→install the hardware(advanced)→imaging devices→add every scanner device one by one then restart system and check

I added all 5 and checked for driver updates online and through windows update. Rebooted the computer and still nothing.
In device manager SCSI and USB have Yellow Exclamation Triangles and Serial and WSD just have the camera logo. WIA never showed up in device manager when I added it. I really appreciate all of your help.

I think I'm going to bed since I'm Hawaii Standard Time. If you think of anything else please let me know.

@pegramceSome problems can be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and select Sign out. Once you’ve signed out, sign back in to your account.

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I have searched the ends of the internet and contacted windows support. They told me "It appears you have no camera driver" LOL (I know!) and to contact Acer.
