I have Acer Aspire V5-571P laptop originally came with windows 8 but i upgraded to windows 8.1 then windows 10 since it was free from microsoft but my microphone isn't working after installing windows 10 and not picking any sound. Then I installed Realtek drivers 6.0.1.7541. Now my internal microphone of laptop is working but whenever I place jack of my external headset it gives perfect sound but headset microphone doesn't work. I checked my external headset microphone on a macbook and it works perfectly fine there. I even selected output as a headset when I insert any external headset but it doesn't work.

I installed audio drivers from Acer official website recently but it stops internal microphone to work even. There is no option for drivers on windows 10.

Any solutions for this problem?

Unfortunately, the jack is for a 3-ring stereo headphone plug (2nd from left). So first the jack would have to be changed (solder to the mainboard). Then a mic signal wire diverted from the internal mic to the jack and another signal wire from the jack back to the internal mic. A risky hack. Jack E/NJ

Did this headset microphone ever work on this machine when it was running Win8x? Jack E/NJ

Sorry, the V5-571P audio jack only supports headphones, not headsets. The jack has no provision for an external mic, Jack E/NJ

Yes this mic works for windows 10 but you have to uninstall old realtek sound driver and update the 2015 realtek update to make microphone work.
