Recently there is a problem occur on the Spin 5 laptop I have. I always have the screen sleep mode on for 1 minute with no activity, when I overcharge the computer, the LCD won't wake up...but the key is lighted up when I press it.   the only solution when this happens is to turn off the laptop and turn back on.  If I didn't overcharge the computer, sleep mode won't affect the computer

Since you are over charging the unit, just try try power after you over charge the laptop and check.
power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.

What do you mean by "overcharged the computer"? The charging circuit shouldn't allow anything like an overcharge, it only draws charging power when needed for charging...

@Jack22 tried and didn't solve the problem..

@billsey You are right.. I thought it was the overcharged status that leads to the LCD couldn't wake up. However recently I realize that even the it wasn't charged full and it still shut down.

I am not sure what happened.  The situation has changed. If I walk away from the laptop while charging, I assume that in 15- 30-minute time frame I won't be able to wake up the screen. This does not mean that the computer is shutted down because the keyboard sometimes is still lighted up when I pressed it. And the blue light(an indicator of the laptop is still on) on the right still light up. It just the screen I couldn't wake up.    I think it has to do with the setting with sleep mode?

Very likely something with sleep mode. Do some tests, set the sleep timeout to some short time and test if it will wake right back up when asleep for a short while. Then let it sit for longer and try again. Once you have it pinned down to a specific timeout we can look to see if anything is sleeping at that interval, such as the HDD or WiFi getting turned off.
