Hello guys, I am kind of in a pickle right now, my unit was bought in the US but I am not an US citizen, I go from time to time to work but I am unable to right now because of COVID.

I tried to contact Acer about this but they would only help me if I sent the unit from where I am now to the US, which is OK but they would only return to an US address and that is not an option for me in the foreseeable future

After updating the BIOS in my device from 1.04 to 1.10 (latest) my system started to show some weird behavior.

1. Sometimes it does not detected any of the two drives installed and shows "No bootable device". I have to keep on shutting it down and powering it on again and again until it boots, it doesn't even appear on boot priority tab in BIOS, there is nothing I can do.

2. Settings like factory undervolt seems to have gone, I checked using Intel XTU, Throttlestop and HwInfo64.

The update itself went fine, I ran the utility, it showed and success message and restarted, then it booted into the installation process and showed another successful message.

I Tried going back to the old bios but downloading it and trying to install is not possible, the bios updater utility does not allow downgrades

I hope the community might be able to shed some light into this

Thanks in advance

    Boot in bios then
1)disable secure boot (if option is grey out then 1st you need to set supervisor password)
2)go to boot menu then change bios mode from uefi to legacy.
(May be LEGACY option not there but check it if there is then uefi to legacy)

Hello and Thank you for your response, but I have tried every thing that is possible regarding the bios settings at this point. Even bought a New drive to test if The one I had was failing but when this problem  happens it does not recognize any of the 3 drives I have installed.

Right now I am having to use mobile because my laptop is not letting me boot.

The only thing I think I should do is downgrade The bios but acer wont help me with that.

    I am stuck.

This is definitely a bug, I have found a way to force it to show "No bootable device" and also found a workaround for it to recognize the SSD's back again and boot.

If I let it shut down on its own while using battery, the next time I try to power it on (after plugging in charger of course) it won't recognize any of my SSD's and show the "No bootable device" message.

Also, If before I turn it on, I insert any bootable USB flash drive it works and recognizes all of my SSD's at which point I can choose to boot into windows.

I may have also found a way to downgrade the bios by extracting the .exe updater from Acer website and changing some parameters, but now that I have found this workaround to make it boot properly, I will not be doing that unless I absolutely have to

Why did you update the BIOS in the first place? You know what people say: Never touch a running system. Downgrade is not that scary ( I have done this on my Nitro few times). Next time if you really need to update, update to the version before the latest unless the latest fixes bugs caused by the previuos(wow that sonds crasy). Just have in mind that we (the customers) are beta testers for HW, FW  and SW regardless the brand and the company.
