Hello,
Is it normal for the Acer Helios 300 PH315 to completely turn off if the lid is shut for over 8 hours? I shut the lid without putting it to sleep or turning it off over night, and in the morning I opened it and had to turn it on. Should it have been on when opening the lid in the morning? I just want to make sure that my laptop does not have an problems.

Thanks,
I appreciate our responses.

    Thanks,
So I checked it and it says right now that when I close the lid, it will go to sleep. Does that explain it shutting completely off after like 8 hours though? @GAMING6698

@yuyu most probably your battery drain. While it's true that a laptop in sleep mode “sips” juice from the battery instead of guzzling it, this “sipping” can still drain much of a battery's charge over the course of even a few hours in some models.
Some settings also drains battery in sleep like fast startup, bios settings.

It's weird, because when I turn it on though after that time, it still has 100% battery. So it shouldn't be the battery draining that turns it off. @GAMING6698

@YuyuYou’ll need to open up your “Device Manager” by typing that phrase after you click the Start button. Once there, expand your System Devices and look for an “Intel Management Engine Interface.” If you find it, right-click on it, select “Properties,” and then click on the Power Management tab. Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

    Hello @GAMING6698
Even with turning off the power saving mode, when I opened the laptop this morning it had turned off over night. Do you know what else could be causing that?

@yuyu is it really important for you? If yes then i can provide future steps.
Asking you because there are some settings turn off/on by default changing them may make your unstable, fast battery drain.
    But you can try this
    1. Press Windows key + R to open up a Run box. Then, type “ms-settings:troubleshoot” and hit Enter to open the Troubleshoot tab of the Windows Settings App.
    2. In the Troubleshoot tab, click on Power (under Find and fix other problems), then select Run the troubleshooter.
    3. Wait until the investigation is complete. If the Power Troubleshooter managed to identify a problem, click on Apply this fix and wait until the repair strategy is applied.
    4. Once the repair is complete, close the Power Troubleshooter and reboot your computer.

Thanks, no it's not very important. It's just that this is a newish computer and I want to make sure everything works fine before the warranty of 30 days is over. @GAMING6698

Do you think there is something wrong with the computer if it still turns off even after unchecking the power saving setting? @GAMING6698

Some powersaving settings and third party apps can do this like antivirus. While sleep mode does suck up a bit more power than a laptop that's shut down
    System is normal

There is easy way to CHECK your CPU,GPU,RAM is performing as expected or not run this userbenchmark
    https://www.userbenchmark.com/resources/download/UserBenchMark.exe

Run this test while plugin because system gives 100%performance only while charging(without charging 50%)and set high performance in predatorsense

After completing running test you can post that link here

Please try running Power troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.
    2. Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
    3. Click on View all on the left navigation pane. Click on Power.

The only thing it had to fix was the brightness. What do you think is the cause of the computer turning off even when power saving mode is unchecked? @GAMING6698
thanks, again for all your help
